Long a favorite luxury destination for the sailing set, the Bitter End Yacht Club was entirely destroyed by a hurricane in 2017. Before its destruction, the club had been open a half century on its island outpost. When it was time to reopen, they turned to O’Rourke to help them make a major impact.
In 2017, Hurricane Irma completely destroyed the Bitter End Yacht Club, a favorite high-end luxury destination for sailing aficionados. The owners of the property in the British Virgin Islands were determined to rebuild both their physical club and their online presence, but the process was slowed significantly by the COVID pandemic.
Having been closed for almost five years, the Bitter End needed to remind everybody they were back. When it was finally time to reopen, the property owners wanted the yacht club to make a big splash upon its reintroduction to the world.
The rebuilt club had a lot to be proud of, with attractive new accommodations and amenities built on its history and heritage with a modern flare. They needed a website to match, and O’Rourke set out to create a custom design that captured that spirit.
Compelling new imagery, site navigation, and improved page loading speed all contributed to an increase in site performance and gave the Bitter End the fresh start they were looking for.
A line from the website says it best: “THE SEA BECKONS. ADVENTURE CALLS. BITTER END IS BACK.”
